Akram BEN ROMDHANE
Age: 28 years old
Akram Ben Romdhane, a Tunisian violinist, began studying violin in his native country, in the class of Rachid Koubaa at the Higher Institute of Music of Tunis, where he obtained a Bachelor in violin and musicology in 2011. His desire to perfecting his art drives him to travel and discover other approaches of playing the violin. He studied in the class of Thierry Huchin at the Conservatoire Régional de Créteil in Paris, he obtained his DEM of violin in 2014. He followed the master classes of Alexis Galperine, Anna Haas, Daniel Alberman, Dong-Suk Kang. He is currently preparing the Master in violin, in Véronique Bogaerts’ class at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
His desire to link the instrumental practice with a rigorous scientific research allows him to integrate the University Sorbonne Paris VI, where he obtains a Master in Musicology in 2015, and continues his studies in PhD, specializing in violin practice at the 18th and 19th century.
He is a member of the Cadence Quartet, invited violinist at the Ensemble Orchestral de Tunisie, the Tunisian Opera and the Tunisian Symphony Orchestra.
Thanks to his improvement of several styles of play (Classical, Oriental, Jazz, Traditional …), he performs in international stages (Germany, the United States, China, Algeria, Morocco, the Belgium, France …), and he participates in festivals such as, Nuits d’été, El Jem, Carthage, Jmc, the festival of Aix-en-Provence with which he leads various projects at once social and artistic.
