Pauline Chaigne is Deputy Director of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra (MYO) and of Mediterranean programming at the Festival d’Aix en Provence.
Since 2010, she has recruited and selected over 1,500 young artists to participate in MYO’s programmes, based on annual auditions in various Mediterranean cities and on applications from a large pool of young artists. She designs MYO’s training sessions and professional integration programmes, determines their content, and manages their tours and broadcasts. She heads the department that produces these activities at the Festival d’Aix and manages the team that implements the MYO’s programmes.
She takes part in the programming and the production of the artistic initiatives of Passerelles (the outreach department of the Festival d’Aix). In addition, she curates the Mediterranean summer concert seasons for the Festival d’Aix and for Aix en Juin.
Pauline Chaigne studied music in various conservatories and the humanities at university. In addition to her conservatory degrees, she holds a master’s degree in the Aesthetics and Science of Art (philosophy and humanities), with a concentration in Cultural Project Engineering, from Aix-Marseille University (France). She also has a licentiate in Literature from the University of Manchester (United Kingdom).
