On 13 July, we organised a public conference on the Medinea On Air which offered the occasion to present the motivation behind and the detailed programme of the free online pedagogical programme.
The conference was held in order to inform and debate the online training Medinea On Air with the audience, composed by the young musicians taking part in the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra and Medinea sessions and the member of the network Medinea.
Martin Guerpin, the pedagogical coordinator of the programme and Stéphanie Deporcq, director of Medinea, presented the history and intentions behind the programme, the content itself and facilitated exchange with the audience on 3 topics:
-What could be done in order to improve the programme, both in form and content?
-What are the interests and advantages of the Medinea On Air programme for the musical institutions and their students?
-What could be done to spread the word about this programme?
As project partner, Yelda Özgen (director of the Center for Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM) at Istanbul Technical University Dr. Erol Üçer) shared the interest of her organisation for the programme. She explained how cooperating on this programme was an opportunity to open up and share the knowledge of the educational staff with a wider audience, beyond the students of the university.
The conference was held at the Amphithéâtre de la Manufacture in Aix-en-Provence, was recorded and is available to listen to on our YouTube channel:
