Ana Dolžan studied violin at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana in the class of prof. Primož Novšak and finished her Master studies in June 2018 with a Diploma Summa Cum Laude. She continued Specialized Master program – soloist at ZHdK in the class of prof. Andreas Janke. She attended seminars and master classes with Janez Podlesek, Igor Ozim, Wonji Kim Ozim, David Grigorian, Goran Končar, Volodja Balžalorsky, Stefan Milenković, Sreten Krstić, Tomaž Lorenz, Rahel Cunz, Benjamin Ziervogel, Trio di Parma, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Vadim Gluzman, Chaim Taub, Hagai Shaham, Sergey Ostrovsky and others.
She performed as a soloist with the Coastal Chamber orchestra, String orchestra Arseia, Symphonic orchestra of Slovene national Theatre Maribor, Orchestra Mandolina, Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra, Chamber orchestra of Academy of Music Ljubljana and Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra at home and abroad and inspired the audience with works of Brahms, Vivaldi, Wieniawski, Paganini, Sarasate, Tchaikovsky and others.
She collaborates in many chamber groups and ensembles, manly as member of Piano Trio Ad Hoc and as first violinist of Slovenian String Sextet. Since 2020 she is also Concertmaster of Slovenian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. She was a member of the famous European Youth Orchestra GMJO with which she performed on tours in many prestigious halls in Europe.
For her achievements in music, she received an award of the town Škofja Loka and two Prešeren award for students.
In April 2018 she became a member (1st violin tutti) of Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and since October 2018 she works as their Concertmaster.
