Born in Ibiaçá, Rio Grande do Sul – Brazil, Augusto started playing the guitar at the age of 5, until he was 15 years old, he was self-taught and played in popular music groups. Afterwards, he started to take guitar lessons with Professor Roberto Thiessen. After this period, he joined the University of Passo Fundo (RS), where he had the guidance of guitarist Gérson Werlang. In 2012, he was awarded a scholarship to carry out an academic exchange at the University of Minho in the city of Braga, Portugal. In 2013, he graduated in guitar from the University of Passo Fundo with the maximum value (10). In 2016 he finished his master’s degree in performance at the Superior School of Music of Lisbon, with the guidance of António Jorge Gonçalves.
In parallel to classical music, Augusto has always been part of Brazilian popular music and improvised music. Augusto was awarded some prizes in several festivals as a composer, instrumentalist and arranger.  Among them he obtained 1st place in the festival “17th Seara da Canção” in 2011; Best Arrangement at the “Corner of Light” festival in the year 2013; 1st Place in the festival “9º Sing a song in Vacaria” in the year 2014; Best instrumentalist and 1st place in “Música do Passo” in the year 2015.
In 2016, he was invited by the Symphonic Orchestra of the Superior School of Music of Lisbon to hold two solo concerts. In the year 2018, he recorded in Portugal his first album titled “Palavra de Fantoche” alongside João Barradas, Tiago Mourão and Vini Baschera, representing the new generation of Brazilian instrumental music, which circulates between Classical Music, World Music and Jazz. He is currently one of the leading figures in the guitar and has already shared the stage with artists such as Jesse Harris, João Barradas, João Moreira, Luca Alemanno, Luciano Maia, Lucio Yanel, Nelson Cascais and Simon Moullier. He has already taken his music through several countries, among them: Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Spain, France, England, Italy, Mexico, Portugal. Currently living in Lisbon, Augusto has an active roll in the city’s musical scene.
