Quentin Dubarry is a French saxophonist who started at the age of eight in Toulouse. He continued his studies of classical music in Paris & Montreuil’s Conservatory where he obtained his music diploma (DEM).
Because improvisation has always been important for him since he was a kid, he started studying with Malo Vallois, Romain Clerc-Renaud & Stéphane Payen at Montreuil’s Conservatory. Here he also learned with Hilaire Penda & Magic Malik and had the opportunity to discover Aka Moon’s music.
In 2018, he pursued his jazz studies (DEM) at Montreuil with Stéphane Payen, Romain Clerc- Renaud & Yannick Lestra.
Today he focuses on learning, composing, recording and playing with a wide range of bands, especially:
– « Stamp », mixing Electronic, Rock, Jazz and Oriental influences.
– « Schubert Fat Orchestra » conducted by Stéphane Payen.
– « L’Enfant de la Forêt », A Trip-Hop project led by James Kent (leader of « Perturbator »).
