In addition of the usual yearly activity report presented to the Medinea members, think tanks about the future developments of the network, and public conferences on issues at the heart of Medinea’s current and general reflection were organised.

This year, the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence inaugurated a new cycle of encounter: Les Midis du festival (“Midday at the Festival”), free public events taking place every day at noon, and taking the shape of masterclasses, panel discussions and conferences, giving the audience, artists and professionals the opportunity to take part in a group reflection on the challenges of opera and artistic creation. In this frame, the Medinea representatives took the floor in order to present its video series to be published soon and to question the issue of cultural exchange in the Mediterranean.
