Trombone player | Teacher
Dušan KRANJC graduated as a trombone soloist from the University of Ljubljana. For several years he was principal trombonist for the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He later studied under Branimir Slokar in Trossingen, Germany. As a professor he teaches at the University of Ljubljana Academy of Music and the Landesmusikschule Vöcklabruck in Upper Austria. He is a trombone soloist with the Camerata Academica Salzburg, the MAS (Musica antiqua Salzburg), the OENM, and the Lungau Big Band. Dušan Kranjc has been a member of the Juvavum Brass Quintet since 1990, with whom he has played at many festivals — e.g. Salzburger Festspiele, Salzburger Adventsingen, Festival fuer neue Musik Bozen, Kammermusik Festival Allegro Vivo, Int. Musikwochen Millstatt, Festival Sandstein & Musik Dresden, Bluval Straubing, Haydn Festspiele Eisenstadt, Jeunesses Musicales, Contemporary Autumn, Musica Sacra Trient, Festival Ljubljana, Festival Lent Maribor, and Groedener Musikwochen — as well as concerts in Italy Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Russia, Lithuania, France, Poland, Germany, Mexico, Taiwan, the USA, Israel, etc.
