Joseph Marshal

Joseph Marshall is a musician, producer, composer, DJ and sound editor based in London, England.  He has made commercial works for major UK and global brands such as Adidas, Dickies, ASOS, Diet Coke, and Marc O’Polo. He spent twenty years writing for and playing in bands and has been a touring and recording session musician across Europe and in the USA.  His compositions have been used in major British TV shows. He has worked extensively with the UK-based CUT Collective — whose films have been shown at festivals around Europe — creating bespoke music and audio to enhance, interact with, and work alongside dance and movement; and has collaborated with the iconic Brazilian theatre group Os Satyros and members of the Royal Shakespeare Company in creating a live performance of Macbeth using Zoom.

As DJ, Joseph was influential in both the Leeds and the East London scenes of the 2000s and 2010s, playing throughout Europe at clubs and festivals; has been resident DJ at Club NME, Vice Magazine’s legendary East London pub; and has DJ’d for a number of club nights. In addition to commercial productions and the production of his own projects, Joseph also works with educational institutions, creating bespoke audio for projects with fellows and students.
