Paulo Pacheco earned his bachelor’s degree at the Superior School of Music of Lisbon (Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa), where he studied piano with Miguel Henriques and chamber music with Olga Prats. In 2004, he obtained a master’s degree in Music / Piano Performance at the University of North Texas, under the guidance of Vladimir Viardo and completed his studies in the Chamber Music Center. In 2017 he was awarded the status of Specialist in Music by the Lisbon Polytechnic Institute. Likewise, in 2021, he was assigned the first Certificate in chamber music for teacher’s training in the specialized music schools, by the Continuous Formation Scientific – Pedagogic Council. Paulo appeared in several music festivals and performed solo with the Orquestra Sinfónica Juvenil, the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, the Orquestra Nacional do Porto and the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras. He also collaborated with ensembles such as Orchestrutópica, Matosinhos String Quartet, the Algarve Orchestra, the National Ballet Company, the Lisbon Ensemble 20/21, and Ensemble Collegium Musicum Electroacustico. He also founded chamber music groups (Trio.pt, Trio Max Bruch and Triunvirato) and a duo with flutist Nuno Inácio. Paulo is a faculty member at the Superior School of Music of Lisbon and has coordinated the Chamber Music department of the National Academy of Advanced Orchestral Studies for 13 years. Eight of his groups received awards at the Youth Musicians Prize, the most important chamber music competition in Portugal. He has given chamber music masterclasses in Portugal, Cyprus, England, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, and Poland. In 2014, he became an individual member of the European Chamber Music Teachers Association.
