These meetings were organised on 20 and 21 July in order to allow, as usual, the invited professionals to attend the concerts of the Medinea session and the Symphonic session. This year also saw a new feature: the organisation of a pitching session.
The participants of the Medinea session presented themselves and talked about their professional project to the representatives of the network’s partner structures present and to the other invited actors of the French music world. The aim of this session was to create a moment of encounter between emerging artists and music actors around the Mediterranean and to favour, on the one hand, the professional integration of artists by allowing them to create a network and to practice pitching and, on the other hand, to make these actors aware of the artists of tomorrow for possible musical projects
With the presence of the representatives of ARC Research & Consultancy, Escola Superior de Musica de Lisboa, Ente Musicale di Nuoro, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, University of Ljubljana (Academy of Music), the Director and the Coordinator of the network, as well as the Director and Deputy Director of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra, the meetings took place in Aix-en-Provence and consisted of:
- Discussion about the organisation and production of the next Medinea sessions
- Presentation and discussion of the themes addressed by the next Medinea On Air programme, supported by the European Commission’s Erasmus+ programme
- Exchange on the next auditions of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra
- Debate on the communication of the network and more precisely on inclusive communication
Beyond providing an opportunity for the partners present to exchange and coordinate, these meetings also allowed the actors and representatives of the Medinea network to meet face to face after a long series of online meetings. This gave a new impetus to the exchanges and gave all of us the chance to rediscover the human, artistic and emotional aspects of the projects and values we defend.
