Daniel Sousa is a portuguese saxophonist based in Porto.
At 9 years old he started studying saxophone in his local town (Melres) and has since then been engaged with all sorts of projects as a way to expand his own language.
Aged 11 he went to “Conservatório de Música do Porto” where he studied classical and jazz approach to music and in 2018 he finished his bachelor in saxophone – jazz at “Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa”. He had the opportunity to be part of the ERASMUS+ at “Conservatorium van Amsterdam”. During his career he played all around Portugal, Spain, Italy and Netherlands where he worked with some of the finnest musicians around.
Currently he is trying to develop his own language through intercultural connections, exploring the diferent directions in music.
Some projects: Javier Subatin Trance Trio and Orquestra de Jazz do Porto.
