Pierre Hurty began playing drums at 7 years old, before adding classical percussion to his musical soundscape a few years later. He studied successively in the classes of Alain Pelletier and Jean-Baptiste Couturier, then he got accepted at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel in the class of Gert François and Bart Quartier. In May 2017, he obtained a Bachelor Degree in Classical Percussion, as well as he got accepted to study a Bachelor Degree in Jazz Drums. Since september 2017, he is studying in the class of Stéphane Galland, Pieter Bast, and Martin Gort. Pierre evolves as well in jazz projects as in classical ones. He is co-leading 3 bands known as YAGŌ (modern jazz piano trio), Symposie (contemporary percussion duet, semi-finalist of the International Percussion Competition Luxembourg 2018), Shatel (electro/pop collective), and playing in bands such as Wolves , Songs Between Two Lands or the Kays Frihat Quartet . He also played with Brussel Philharmonic , Casimir Liberski trio , Garbage Ghost , the Olivier Anthony Theurillat Quartet , the Spira Mirabilis , the Quentin Gayrard Quintet , the Musica Ficta Ensemble ….
