Born in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1975, Can Karadoğan completed his B.Sc. at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and his M.Sc. at Technische Universitaet Hamburg-Harburg, Germany on Information & Communication Systems. He completed his doctoral studies in sound engineering and design at Istanbul Technical University (ITU)’s Dr. Erol Ucer Center for Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM) where he worked as a research assistant between 2005 and 2011 focusing on the MIAM recording studio. Since 2011, he is the head of the Music Technology Department of ITU-Turkish State Music Conservatory (TMDK) the studio manager of MIAM Recording Studios. In 2018, he was a guest researcher at the Tonlabor in HAW-Hamburg, Germany where he worked with Prof Thomas Görne on immersive audio. Can is teaching both at MIAM and at TMDK courses on sound engineering & design. He has been involved in many professional recording projects in various genres as an engineer focusing on classical, Turkish music (TSM) and jazz. He produces his own music as a singer-songwriter as well. Can is an Audio Engineering Society (AES) member since 2011.
