Born in Istanbul, Jerfi Aji enjoys a versatile performance career as a soloist, sought-after chamber musician, and an advocate for new music. He also teaches piano and music theory as a faculty member at Istanbul Technical University’s Center for Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM). In addition to a DMA in Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, Aji holds a bachelor’s degree in textile engineering and master’s degree in industrial engineering. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestras, and given solo recitals and chamber music concerts in Turkey and abroad. Aji is a member of Trio Kuvars Viyolet as well as the MIAM Modern Music Ensemble. His album “Alexander Scriabin: Poems, Colours, Flames” was released earlier this year under the Italian label Vermeer in the context of the recording prize Aji had won at the Sicily International Piano Competition in 2019.
